Safeguarding Home About our Parish Contact us St Leonard's church

Men’s group:

The principal objective is to create and strengthen social contacts between the men of the parish. The idea is to be a men only group but it is not exclusively male only as some events may appeal to everyone.

At one meeting each year a program of events is agreed and who would be responsible for organising each of them.

Activities in the past have included Croquet, Bat & Trap, Port Health, Sorting Office, Ferry Trip, Sandwich Bay Nature Reserve, Bar Skittles, Vineyard visit, Brewery visit.

Meetings are usually held once a month with either a Saturday morning breakfast and discussion session or a mid-week event.

Mother’s Union:

St. Leonard's Mother's Union currently has 37 members, and they meet in the Parish Lounge St. Leonard’s Social Centre on the second Tuesday of the month at 2.30.  These meetings are a mixture of serious and fun afternoons and might include a light hearted quiz, or just as easily a speaker on a children's project in Rwanda.

It is a very friendly, caring and outward looking group, supporting through prayer and amongst other things, knitting blankets and hats for the premature baby units at various hospitals and collect toiletries etc. for the women's refuge etc.

On the first Thursday in the month Corporate Holy Communion is celebrated at 9.30 in the Lady Chapel at St Leonard’s followed by coffee and a chat.

Anyone is welcome to come along to any of the meetings.
